Universal batter for fish, seafood and any vegetables: a recipe from Olha Martynovska

Tempura is a popular category of Japanese cuisine made from fish, seafood, and vegetables cooked in batter and deep-fried. But in Ukraine, this word is often used to describe ordinary batter.

Chef Olha Martynovska shared on her Instagram how to make the perfect batter. According to her, this tempura is perfect for fish, seafood, and any vegetables. It is extremely thin and has a special flavor.

Ingredients

  • Flour for tempura - 200 gr
  • Wheat flour - 100 gr
  • Baking powder - 10 gr
  • Light beer - 300 ml
  • Strong alcohol - 150 ml
  • Honey - 10 g

The method of preparation

1. Mix all the dry ingredients.

2. Add honey to the strong alcohol and stir well until dissolved.

3. Add the honey-alcohol mixture to the dry ingredients.

4. Just before using the tempura, add the freshly opened light beer. Mix thoroughly with a whisk.
