Ukrainian superfoods for fall: what you should definitely include in your diet
In the fall, the body needs more nutrition than ever in the form of vitamins and minerals to prepare it for the cold. That's why nutrition expert Natalia Michkovskaya advises including superfoods in your diet.
The expert shared details on what to eat this fall on her personal Instagram page. Michkovska spoke about the Ukrainian equivalents of products called "superfoods," which have already become a global trend.
According to the expert, in the fall, you should include in your diet foods high in vitamins A and C. After all, they are necessary for the normal functioning of the immune system. Foods high in vitamin A include pumpkin, parsley, pepper, egg yolk, and cod liver.
Foods containing vitamin C are broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, and beets. In addition, Michkovska advises making rosehip and viburnum drinks in the fall .
The expert also noted that zinc-rich foods such as beans, pumpkin seeds, and nuts are also a Ukrainian analog of superfoods.
"Also, don't forget to add prebiotics to your autumn diet, such as garlic and sauerkraut," Michkovska summarized.
Superfood is a conventional designation for natural products of plant origin with a large supply of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Their list is very wide and is periodically updated with new names. The world leaders are goji and acai berries, raw coffee and cocoa beans, chia and quinoa seeds.
