The most delicious cherry jam with an unusual ingredient: an old recipe shared by Konstantin Grubich
Cherries are ideal berries for making thick, tasty, and flavorful jams, as well as fillings for pies, compotes, and liqueurs. Cherries can also be frozen, as can cherries, strawberries, and herbs, but this must be done correctly so as not to spoil the healthy products.
TV presenter Konstantin Grubich shared a recipe for delicious cherry jam with vodka on his YouTube channel, in which the cherries are whole and the jam is a very beautiful rich color (to watch the video, scroll to the end).
Cook's tip: cherries for jam should not be green, but not overripe either! Be sure to remove the pits and remove the foam from the jam when cooking!
Ingredients:
- Cherries - 1 kg
- Sugar - 1.5 kg
- Vodka - 10 ml
Method of preparation:
1. Wash the cherries well, remove the stems and pits.
2. Put the jam on a baking sheet, sprinkle with vodka, and cover the cherries with sugar.
3. Put a layer of cherries again, sprinkle them with vodka and cover with sugar again.
4. Leave the cherries in the refrigerator for 4 hours to let them juice.
5. After that, put the cherries in a large saucepan, put it on the fire, and bring the jam to a boil.
6. After the jam has boiled, be sure to stir it to prevent it from burning. Remove the foam.
7. After boiling, cook the jam over high heat for about 5 minutes, then reduce the heat, stir well, and turn off the heat.
8. Leave the jam on the stove for 8 hours, making sure to cover it with a lid.
9. After that, return the jam to the stove, bring to a boil, and be sure to stir. Then turn off the heat, cover the jam with a lid, and leave it again for 8 hours.
10. Then put it back on the fire, bring it to a boil, skim off the foam, turn off the heat, and let it stand for a few minutes.
11. Pour the finished jam into sterile jars, close the lids, turn the jars over, and let the jam cool completely.
