The main mistake in cooking pasta that causes the product to spoil: never do this
Cooking pasta seems to be the easiest thing to do. But many people make a gross mistake when preparing this dish. Namely, they understand the concept of "al dente" as undercooked pasta.
The American edition of the Mirror told us how to actually boil the products. There is one very simple rule.
In cooking, "al dente" means "to the tooth" in Italian. In other words, the term refers to pasta or rice that is cooked so that it tastes firm. The pasta doesn't have to be tough, but it should have a slight hardness when you bite into it.
Christopher Kimball, co-founder of America's Test Kitchen and founder of the Milk Street Kitchen cooking school, pointed out the error.
Christopher said: "A lot of people just don't trust their pasta because they say it's 'al dente'. He went on to explain: "Pasta tastes different when it's undercooked. It's not pleasant."
It is possible to overcook or undercook pasta. To ensure that the pasta is not overcooked and still moderately firm, you need to cook the pasta two minutes less than the recommended time. At this point, you should give it a quick taste. If the pasta is firm but not chalky, it can be drained.
