The easiest dressing for Caesar salad: without mayonnaise, anchovies and Worcestershire sauce
The classic version of Caesar salad dressing is made with Worcestershire sauce, anchovies, and raw egg yolks. If someone doesn't like this recipe or simply doesn't have any of the ingredients, there is a much simpler alternative. This sauce, by the way, is suitable for many other salads based on greens and vegetables.
Food blogger Galina Duma (reeixit) shared a recipe for Caesar salad sauce on her Instagram page.
Ingredients:
- boiled egg yolks - 2 pcs.
- garlic - 1 clove
- mustard - 2 tsp.
- honey - 2 tsp.
- lemon juice - 2 tbsp.
- salt - a pinch
- olive oil - 80 ml
Method of preparation:
1. Eggs should be boiled beforehand, only boiled yolks are needed for the dressing. When ready, mash them with a fork until smooth.
2. Chop the garlic through a press.
3. Mix the yolks with the garlic, adding the remaining ingredients: mustard, honey, lemon juice, salt and olive oil. Mix until smooth.
4. Let the finished dressing brew for about 15-20 minutes.
