Tender roll with juicy poppy seed filling: how to make the dough
This poppy seed roll is an ideal option for a non-trivial dessert for tea. It is especially tasty, tender, and airy, of course, because of the yeast dough. As for the filling, it turns out to be very juicy when cooked properly.
Food blogger Svitlana Levitska (lanas_diet) shared a recipe for poppy seed roll for tea on her Instagram page.
Ingredients:
- flour - 500 g + 3 tbsp.
- yeast - 15 g
- eggs - 2 pcs.
- warm milk - 250 g
- sugar - 80 g
- soft butter - 50 g
- salt - 0.5 tsp
- vanilla or zest
- egg yolk for lubrication
Filling:
- poppy seeds - 400 g
- sugar - 400 g (less is better)
- butter - 50 g
- raisins
- protein
Method of preparation:
1. To prepare the filling, grind the steamed poppy seeds with sugar, then add butter and protein. Mix everything until smooth.
2. Then proceed to the preparation of the dough. To do this, dissolve the yeast in milk, adding 1 tbsp of sugar and 3 tbsp of flour. Stir and leave it warm for 30-30 minutes.
3. Meanwhile, beat the eggs, salt, sugar and vanilla until thick and fluffy. Mix the resulting mass with the finished dough.
4. Add flour and knead the dough.
5. Add soft butter at the end of the kneading. Put the dough into a greased bowl and leave for 1 hour.
6. The finished dough to knead, divide into 2 parts, cover and leave for 20 minutes.
7. At this stage, form the rolls: roll out each part of the dough, put the filling and wrap. Leave the rolls to rise for 40-60 minutes.
8. Brush the rolls with egg yolk and bake at 180 degrees for 40 minutes.
