Tender American Chicken pot pie for a hearty dinner
Any pie is a great option for both a festive treat and a casual lunch or dinner dish. You can make them with different fillings, but the most important thing is to make a good dough.

Ingredients:
- Puff pastry – 300 g
- Thigh flesh (can be breast) – 700 g
- Olive or sunflower oil – 2-3 tbsp
- Seasoning for chicken – 1/2 tsp
- Onion – 1 pc
- Garlic – 2 cloves
- Carrots – 1 pc
- Butter – 40 g
- Flour – 3 tbsp
- Chicken broth – 500 ml
- Cream 20% – 150 ml
- Salt – 1/2 tsp
- Black pepper – a pinch
- Greens – 1 bunch
- Frozen peas – 100 g (no need to defrost)
- Egg yolk – 1 pc
Method of preparation:
1. Sprinkle the meat with spices and salt, mix, and leave to marinate for 30 minutes.
2. Transfer to a baking dish and place in the oven for 30-45 minutes at 170 C.
3. Disassemble the finished meat, you can cut it into medium slices.
4. Dice the onion and carrots and fry in olive oil, add butter, and season with a little salt.
5. Add the flour and mix well.
6. Pour the prepared broth into this mixture, stir, add cream, meat, and frozen peas, then mix thoroughly.
7. Wash the dill or other herbs, chop, and add to the pan, mix well.
8. Roll out the dough and cover the pan, make cuts, brush with egg yolk, and put in the oven for 30-45 minutes at 180°C.
The cake will be delicious when hot. You can eat it with tea, broth, or soups.
