Tea rose jam at home: what to add for a bright taste
Rose petal jam , or, as it is also called,rose jam, is a very original and colorful homemade preparation. It is simple and quick to prepare. It turns out to be moderately sweet and thick, as well as very healthy.
Food blogger Olena Olzhych shared a recipe for a tea rose petal jam with orange zest on her Instagram page.
Ingredients:
- rose petals - 125 g
- sugar - 200 g
- water - 300 ml
- citric acid - 1\3 tsp.
- orange zest 1\2 pcs.
Method of preparation:
1. Collect the rose petals (it is better to do this in the morning) and cut off the white ends, because they give bitterness. After that, wash and dry the flowers thoroughly.
2. Separately mix sugar and water, put on the stove and bring to a vigorous boil.
3. The petals can either be chopped with a knife or ground in a blender with citric acid. Then add them to the boiling syrup. Stir, bring to a boil and cook for 10 minutes. You can also add the orange zest at this stage.
4. Pour the hot jam into sterile jars. It's ready!
