Taten tart with apples: an easy recipe for the most delicious French pie

Taten Tart is a traditional French apple pie inside out. It not only looks unusual and beautiful but is also extremely flavorful and easy to prepare.

Food blogger Olga Ryabenko told us how to fill your kitchen with the incredible flavor of France and make a pie that everyone will love. She shared a detailed recipe for this dish on Instagram.

Ingredients for the dough:

  • Egg – 1 pc
  • Water – 50 ml
  • Flour – 250 gr
  • Butter – 125 gr
  • Salt – 5 g

Can be replaced with purchased puff pastry.

Ingredients for the filling:

  • Hard apples – 5 pcs
  • Sugar – 60 g
  • Cognac (optional) – 30 ml
  • Honey – 50 grams
  • Sour cream 30% for serving

Method of preparation:

1. Peel the apples, and core and cut them in half.

2. Put butter and sugar in a frying pan. Add the apples and cook until caramelized.

3. Pour in the cognac and cook for another 5 minutes.

4. Cover the mold with parchment. Drizzle with honey and put the apples.

5. Roll out the dough, 0.5 cm thick. Cut out a circle to shape.

6. Cover the apples and fold the edges inward. Make punctures with a fork.

7. Bake at 180° for 40 minutes.

8. Cover the mold with a plate and turn the cake over. Serve with honey and sour cream.
