Pies are a great dish for breakfast, lunch, and dinner because they are hearty, tasty, and quick to prepare. You can add any fruit and vegetable to them, making them not only tasty but also healthy.
Everyone knows the iconic apple tarte tatin, but if you cook it in a completely new way - with onions, red wine, and balsamic vinegar - you will get a wonderful and unusual treat, the recipe for which was shared by chef Yevhen Hrybenyk on Instagram.
Ingredients:
- shortcrust pastry
- shallots - 1 kg
- red wine - 200 g
- balsamic vinegar - 200 g
- sugar - 50 g
- butter - 25 g
Method of preparation:
- Peel the onions and fry them in a saucepan with butter and sugar. Stir to caramelize.
- Add wine, reduce heat and cook for about 1 hour.
- Then cut the onion in half.
- Grease a baking dish with butter, sprinkle with flour, and put the onions in.
- You can make a cream, such as vanilla, and pour it over the onions, but this is to taste.
- Cover the top with shortcrust pastry and bake at 180-190 C for 10-15 minutes.
Be sure to let the cake cool down, then turn it over and serve the unusual treat.
