Ingredients:

Ingredients for making sweet borscht

  • Water - 1.5 liters
  • Potatoes - 5-6 pcs.
  • Beets - 2 pcs.
  • Cabbage - 300 g
  • Carrots - 2-3 pcs.
  • Prunes - 7-8 pcs.
  • Green onions - 1 bunch
  • Tomato puree - 20-30 g
  • Sugar - 2-3 tbsp
  • Lemon juice - 2-3 tbsp.
  • Salt, pepper - to taste

Method of preparation:

  1. First of all, boil the prunes for about 5-10 minutes, until tender.
  2. Wash the vegetables, peel them, cut the potatoes into large cubes and put them in a saucepan to cook.
  3. Make the sauté: grate the carrots and beets on a coarse grater, chop the onion and fry until tender.
  4. Chop the cabbage and add to the potatoes, cook until tender.
  5. Finally, add the sautéed potatoes, chopped prunes, sugar, lemon juice, and salt to taste.
  6. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, cover, let it brew well, and then eat.
