Sweet apple tubes in 20 minutes: an alternative to pies
Sweet apple tubes are a great alternative to classic pies. This pastry is very easy to prepare: it is based on a simple water-based dough that goes well with apple and nut filling and an incredible cinnamon flavor. It is the perfect complement to cozy family tea parties.
Food blogger Polina with the nickname polli_cooking shared a recipe for apple and nut filled tubes on her Instagram page.
Ingredients:
Dough:
- water - 120 ml
- oil - 70 ml
- flour - 240 g
- salt - 0.5 tsp.
- sugar - 0.5 tsp.
The filling:
- apples - 3 pcs.
- butter - 20 g
- sugar - 2 tbsp
- cinnamon - 1 tbsp
- nuts - 70 g
Method of preparation:
1. Let's start by making the dough. To do this, mix water with salt, sugar and oil.
2. Gradually add flour and knead the dough. It is elastic and does not stick to the surface or hands at all. Leave the finished dough to rest for 25 minutes.
3. Meanwhile, prepare the filling. Peel and dice the apples.
4. Lightly fry the apples in butter, then immediately add sugar and cinnamon. Fry until golden brown over medium heat.
5. Add the nuts and stir.
6. Form the dough into a sausage and divide it into 14 equal pieces. Roll each one out thinly, put the filling, and form a tube. Wrap the sides inside.
7. Put the tubes on a baking sheet covered with parchment. Bake at 180 degrees for 15-20 minutes.
