Sushi donuts: how to prepare an unusual dish with familiar products
Sushi donuts are a completely new vision of lazy rolls. Therefore, every time you want to try Japanese cuisine, we recommend that you pay attention to this recipe.
Food blogger Valeria shared how to make sushi donuts on Instagram. To prepare them, you'll need the usual ingredients and a silicone donut mold.
Ingredients for 12 pieces
- sushi rice - 150 gr
- water - 165 ml
- nori - 3 pcs
Ingredients for the dressing
- rice/apple cider vinegar - 25 ml
- sugar - 1 tbsp
- salt - 1 tsp
Ingredients for the filling
- cucumber
- salmon/tuna
- avocado
- cream cheese - 150 gr
- sesame seeds - for serving
How to cook
1. Rinse the rice thoroughly with water several times until the water is clear. Pour clean water over it and bring to a boil. Turn the heat to low and cook for 15 minutes without lifting the lid.
2. Turn off the heat, put a towel under the lid and let the rice stand for another 15 minutes.
3. Add the dressing to the warm rice and stir. After cooling, add the sliced nori sheets and mix again.
4. Lightly grease the silicone donut mold with odorless vegetable oil.
5. Add your favorite filling, a layer of cream cheese, nori, and rice.
6. Be sure to moisten your hands with water and press the rice firmly.
7. Let stand for 5-10 minutes and remove the mold. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve with soy sauce.
