Stuffed cabbage with meat and rice: secrets of a tasty dish

Friends, the long-awaited recipe for "Stuffed Stuffed Stuffed Stuffers"

Ingredients:

  • 3-3,5 kg of cabbage (1 piece)
  • 500 g of ground beef
  • 150 g rice (6 tbsp. with a slide)
  • 350 ml of water (1+3/4 cups)
  • 4 onions (medium)
  • salt (to taste)
  • black pepper (to taste)
  • vegetable oil

For the filling:

  • 300 g tomatoes (in their own juice) (1.5 cups)
  • 2 carrots (medium)
  • 2 onions (medium)
  • salt (to taste)
  • water
  • sugar

Let's prepare the stuffed cabbage:

Send the rice into a saucepan, pour water, salt and cook for 15 minutes on low heat with the lid closed. After, turn off the stove and leave the rice under the lid until it cools down completely.

Peel and dice the onion into small cubes.

Fry the onion in vegetable oil, it should brown slightly.

Take the cabbage and make deep circular cuts in the center. Then, prick the cabbage with a fork.

Pour water into a large pot, bring it to a boil and immerse the cabbage in it.

After 2-3 minutes, the outermost leaves of the cabbage will become soft and will separate well from the cabbage. Pull the whole cabbage apart.

Send the cabbage leaves 5-6 pieces at a time into the same water in which it was boiled, for 1-2 minutes, in order to make them soft.

Combine the minced meat, rice and onion. Salt, pepper and mix.

Cut the cabbage leaf lengthwise and remove the tough center.

Take a small amount of minced meat, put it on the edge of the leaf, roll the leaf into a cone and tuck the edge inside.

Lining the bottom of the pot with cabbage trimmings and lay the stuffed cabbage on them in a circle in several rows.

Prepare the filling:

Slice the carrots into straws and finely dice the onion.

Fry onions and carrots in vegetable oil. Salt and stir.

Add the tomatoes in their own juice and mix.

Pour the dressing over the stuffed cabbage.

Fill the stuffed cabbage with boiling water so that the water covers them completely. If the tomatoes are sour, add a little sugar to the water.

To prevent the stuffed cabbage from rising, cover them with a plate and press them down a little.

Cook the stuffed cabbage for 40-50 minutes on medium heat.
