Strawberry pies in a pan: what to add to the dough to make it fluffy
If you've already made jam, baked cheesecakes, and made ice cream, but still have plenty of strawberries, it's time to make delicious pies. The dough for these pies is quite unusual, as it is made on the basis of cottage cheese, sour cream, and kefir. This makes the pies unusually flavorful and fluffy.
Food blogger Valeria (cook_with_val) shared a recipe for strawberry pies on her Instagram page that can be made in a frying pan.
Ingredients:
Dough:
- cottage cheese - 500 g
- kefir - 200 ml
- fat sour cream - 3 tbsp.
- eggs - 2 pcs
- baking powder\soda - 0.5 tsp.
- wheat flour
Filling:
- strawberries - 500-700 g
- sugar - 4-8 tbsp (0.5-1 tsp per pie)
- starch - 4 tbsp.
Method of preparation:
1. To prepare the dough, gradually mix all the necessary ingredients until smooth. The dough itself is elastic and does not stick to your hands.
2. Divide the finished dough into small pieces at once, or pinch off from the total mass one by one. Form round cakes.
3. Put chopped strawberries, a little sugar, and starch on each cake. Starch is needed to prevent the filling from spreading. Form a pie. You should get 16-18 pies in total.
4. Fry the pies in vegetable oil on both sides: on one side over medium heat, and on the other over low heat under a lid.
