Strawberries are in full swing in Ukraine right now, and you can buy them both in the supermarket and on the market. This is a very healthy berry that contains anti-aging flavonoids, antioxidants - anthocyanins and catechins - that reduce the risk of developing chronic diseases, including cancer, cardiovascular disease, and it also contains a lot of vitamins, both fresh and in the form of jam.

FoodOboz has prepared an unusual, delicious recipe for strawberry jam with bananas.

Ingredients:

  • strawberries - 1 kg
  • sugar - 1 kg
  • bananas - 500 g
  • lemon juice - 50 ml

Method of preparation:

  1. Sort out the berries so that there are no spoiled or crumpled ones, wash them well in cold water, leave them in it for 1-2 minutes.
  2. Put the berries in a bowl, cover with sugar, but do not mix, but shake well so that the sugar is evenly distributed. It is better to leave the strawberries in it overnight.
  3. Put the strawberries on to cook, and when they start to boil, add 500 grams of sliced bananas. Mix everything well and cook for about 5 minutes, skim off the foam.
  4. After that, turn off the heat and let it cool completely at room temperature, preferably leave it for 5-12 hours. During this time, the strawberries will give even more juice, and the berries will be compacted, so they will keep their shape.
  5. After the time has elapsed, put the jam back on the fire, let it boil and add lemon juice, cook for about 5 minutes.
  6. Pour the finished jam into jars and roll it up, turn it upside down, cover it with something warm and let it cool completely.
