Most often, cabbage is stewed with meat, mushrooms, sausages, or just spices. Sometimes even prunes are added. Hpowever, simple sour cream can also add a rather unusual flavor to the dish. Stewed cabbage with sour cream is extremely tender and has a light creamy flavor.
Food blogger Inna (inna_kalancha) shared a recipe for stewed cabbage with sour cream on her Instagram page.
Ingredients:
- cabbage
- onion
- sour cream
- dill
- tomatoes
- salt, pepper
Method of preparation:
1. Chop and fry the onion until golden brown.
2. Chop the cabbage and add to the onions. Simmer under the lid until half cooked.
3. Meanwhile, chop the tomato and add to the dish along with the spices.
4. When the cabbage is almost ready, add sour cream and simmer for another 10 minutes.
5. Sprinkle with dill when serving.
