Stewed cabbage in a new way with prunes and nuts: a recipe for a flavorful dish from Yevhen Klopotenko
Cabbage is a very tasty, healthy, and budget-friendly product that can be the main ingredient in many dishes. It can be fried, stewed, fermented, and added as a filling to pies, dumplings, and zrazy. It goes well with spices, hot peppers, prunes and mushrooms.
Culinary expert Yevhen Klopotenko has shared a recipe for a delicious stewed cabbage with prunes and nuts on his website, which will be a great addition to many dishes.
Ingredients:
- cabbage – 500 g
- prunes – 10 pcs.
- walnuts – 30 g
- water – 100 ml
- butter – 25 g
- sunflower oil – 1-2 tbsp
- tomato paste – 1 tbsp.
- juice of half a lemon
- cumin – a pinch
Method of preparation:
1. Chop the cabbage and fry in a mixture of butter and oil. Be sure to add salt and pepper.
2. Wash and cut the prunes into strips, add to the cabbage.
3. Toast the nuts and chop them finely.
4. Dissolve the tomato paste in water and pour into the pan with the cabbage, stir, add lemon juice, salt, and pepper, and cook for another 10-15 minutes.
5. Add nuts at the end and you can serve a delicious dish.
