White cabbage is one of the most budget-friendly, tasty, and versatile vegetables that can be used to make not only borscht and salad, but also delicious, hearty casseroles, pies, rolls, pies, dumplings, and pancakes. Cabbage can also be fermented, stewed with mushrooms, meat, and prunes.

Cook Anna shared a recipe for delicious stewed cabbage with tomato paste, garlic, and bay leaves on Instagram.

Ingredients:

  • onion - 2 pcs.
  • garlic - 3 pcs.
  • carrots - 3 pcs.
  • white cabbage - 1 pc.
  • tomato paste - 1.5 tbsp.
  • salt - 1/2 tbsp
  • black pepper, salt - to taste
  • vegetable oil - 2-4 tbsp.
  • bay leaves - 3 pcs.

Method of preparation:

1. Chop the cabbage.

2. Finely chop the onion, grate the garlic on a fine grater, and grate the carrots on a coarse grater.

3. Fry the onion in a little oil until lightly golden, add the carrots and garlic, fry for another 5 minutes, add the cabbage and simmer under the lid, turning occasionally over medium heat for about 20 minutes, until the cabbage is softened.

4. Then add salt, tomato paste, ground pepper, mix well, simmer for about 10 minutes, add bay leaf and turn off the heat.
