Steamed dumplings with kefir from the star chef

Steam dumplings according to the recipe of Volodymyr Yaroslavsky

Varenyky are one of the traditional and favorite dishes of Ukrainians. There is no family where this dish is not cooked, regardless of the recipe.

MasterChef judge Volodymyr Yaroslavsky shared on Instagram a recipe for very successful and delicious steamed dumplings with kefir, which are cooked very quickly and will be a delicious treat.

Ingredients:

  • fatty kefir - 250 ml
  • eggs - 1 pc.
  • flour - 350-370 g
  • salt - a pinch
  • soda - 6 g

Method of preparation:

Combine kefir, egg, and salt in a bowl, mix well with a fork, add the sifted flour, and baking soda, and knead the dough well and set aside for 20-30 minutes to rise.

Sprinkle the table well with flour, put the dough on the table, and make a baguette out of it, cut it into 4 pieces.

Make circles, add the filling, and pinch quickly to prevent the filling from falling out.

We make them into braids or pillows, or we make Poltava dumplings, like balls.

Pour water into a saucepan, tie it with cheesecloth, wait until it boils well, and put the dumplings on the cheesecloth and cook for no more than 5 minutes, otherwise, they will be tasteless.

Make an onion paste and sprinkle generously over the dumplings when serving.

The dish is best served warm.
