Spicy cucumbers for the winter in Dijon mustard: how to cut vegetables
It's a great idea to cover cucumbers for the winter in slices instead of whole ones. The vegetables will marinate perfectly and turn out to be savory. You can put them on the table instead of a salad or just as an appetizer for meat or fish.
The idea of cooking spicy cucumbers in Dijon mustard was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Marianna Ryzhman (kitchen ladyboss). The slices will be very crispy.
Ingredients:
- cucumber - 2 kg.
- salt - 25 g
- sugar - 150 g
- vegetable oil - 50 ml.
- vinegar 8% - 120 ml.
- dry garlic - 1 tsp.
- ground black pepper - 1 tsp.
- sweet paprika - 1 tsp.
- turmeric - 1 tsp.
- French (or Dijon)mustard - 200 g
Method of preparation:
1. Grate or slice the cucumbers.
2. Cover with spices and leave for 15-20 minutes to let the juice run.
3. Transfer to sterile jars.
4. Cover and sterilize from the moment of boiling for 10 minutes or until the color changes.
5. Twist and wrap in several blankets.
6. Leave to cool completely.
