Soviet Plombir ice cream recipe to taste that childhood delicacy again

It is impossible to find real Plombir ice cream on store shelves nowadays. It was left far behind in Soviet childhood when there were always long lines for it.

However, food blogger Alex Mil claims that thanks to his recipe, you will be able to experience this unique taste again. On Instagram, he shared how to make a real ice cream with a creamy, buttery flavor.

Ingredients

  • 33% cream - 500 ml
  • egg yolks - 4 pcs
  • milk - 100 ml
  • powdered sugar - 150 gr
  • vanilla sugar - 15 gr

Method of preparation

1. Pour the egg yolks, 150 g of powdered sugar and a little vanilla sugar into a heavy-bottomed saucepan. Mix well.

2. Add milk and mix again.

3. Put on a minimal heat and stir constantly until the mass thickens slightly. Do not bring to a boil.

4. Remove from heat and allow to cool completely.

5. Whip the cream until stiff peaks form.

6. Add the egg mass to the cream and beat on low speed for 1 minute.

7. Put the whole mass into a rectangular mold with a lid, level it, and put it in the freezer.

8. Every 20-30 minutes, take it out and mix well to prevent ice crystals from forming. When it is completely frozen, it is ready.
