Soup with meatballs is a popular first course in different parts of the world, which today has different ways and variations of preparation. Some people prefer the classic version, while others like to improvise with products, discovering new options.

To this day, it is not known exactly where the famous soup originated. However, it is rumored that the dish is of Italian origin because meatballs in Italian mean "small meatballs". Therefore, it is not difficult to guess that they are the main ingredient of the soup.

The following types of meat are traditionally used for making meatballs:

  1. Pork, lamb, beef, veal. Minced meat from these types of meat is considered fatty and nutritious. In addition, combining two or more types of soup will be more appetizing and rich.
  2. Poultry meat. It is one of the most popular for meatballs, as well as – quick to prepare, unlike other types.
  3. Fish. You can use any fish. But salmon has the most delicate taste.

  • If you add onions to the minced meat, the meatballs will become less colorful.
  • To prevent the meatballs from boiling over, chill the minced meat before cooking and beat it on a hard surface when forming balls.
  • To avoid foaming the soup, put the meatballs in well-boiling water.

To prepare the meatball soup, we need the following ingredients:

  • Minced meat - 400 g
  • Water - 1.5 liters
  • Potatoes - 300 g
  • Carrots - 150 g
  • Onions - 150 g
  • Salt - to taste
  • Pepper - to taste
  • Dill - to taste
  • Parsley - to taste

Method of preparation:

  1. First, mix the minced meat well with the spices.
  2. Finely chop the onion, grate the carrots, and fry them for about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Peel and chop the potatoes.
  4. Form the meatballs: make balls of the same size and shape.
  5. Put a pot of water on the stove, bring it to a boil, add salt and pepper to taste, and then throw the meatballs and potatoes into the boiling water.
  6. Add the fried vegetables to the pot. Bring everything to a boil and remove from the heat.
  7. Meanwhile, chop the herbs and garnish the soup with them.
