Pilaf is a hearty and delicious dish based on healthy rice, meat, and spices. Everyone cooks it differently, some people add chicken, others beef and lamb. Usually, it takes about 1-2 hours to cook, but if you choose a simpler recipe, you can cook the dish in 45 minutes.

Chef Yevhen Klopotenko shared a recipe for a delicious pilaf with meat, ginger, dried apricots, and raisins on his website, which you can cook in a slow cooker.

Ingredients:

  • basmati rice – 500 g
  • pork tenderloin – 800 g

  • onions – 3 pcs
  • carrots – 2 pcs
  • garlic – 1 head
Garlic for pilaf
  • dried apricots – 50 g
  • raisins – 50 g
  • coriander seeds – 1 tsp
  • paprika – 1 tsp
  • ginger – 1/3 tsp
Pepper mix
  • allspice – 4 peas
  • black pepper – 3 peas
  • dried tomatoes – 50 g
  • chili pepper flakes – 1/2 tsp
  • cumin – 1/2 tsp
Bay leaf and spices
  • bay leaves – 3 pcs
  • sugar – 1/2 tsp
  • sunflower oil – 100 ml
  • salt – to taste

Method of preparation:

1. Wash the rice.

2. Wash, peel, and cut the carrots into strips.

3. Peel and dice the onion and cut one head of garlic in half.

Fry the onions

4. Pour sunflower oil into the multicooker bowl and fry the onion. Then add the carrots and fry for another 5 minutes.

5. Cut the meat and add to the slow cooker, mix well.

6. Wash the dried apricots, dry them, cut them into strips along with the tomatoes, and put them in the slow cooker.
