"Women and men take care of their appearance, and many people don't want to count calories, constantly weigh everything to control their weight," the doctor said, emphasizing that there is a great method that will be useful for creative people.

According to the expert, the "palm method" was developed in Canada.

You have to measure portions in your palms and fists. According to Poradun, there are four groups of foods: proteins (meat and fish); vegetables; carbohydrates (pasta, potatoes); and fats.

She claims that their volume in each portion is measured by looking at an open palm, handful, fist, and even thumb. "It's easier and faster to control the amount of food you eat, because everyone's palms are different, which means that owners of large hands can afford larger portions," the expert explained.

Protein

A serving size of protein foods: your palm, from the beginning of your fingers to the wrist.

"Please note: a piece of meat or fish should not only be no bigger than this but also no thicker," the nutritionist said. The next way to measure is with your fist. This is the amount of cheese you can eat during the day.

Vegetables

According to the doctor, a portion of vegetables is also measured in fists. During the day, a woman can eat vegetables "for four to six fists". An exception can be made for leafy salads.

Carbohydrates

Here we are talking about grain products (cereals), as well as fruits and berries. The equivalent of a portion for them, according to the doctor, is a handful, that is, a palm folded into a boat. A portion of cereals for a woman is one handful, and for a man – two handfuls per day.

Fats

The source of fat is vegetable and butter, as well as any nuts and seeds. Serving equivalent: a thumb. For example, the upper phalanx of the thumb is the amount of butter, nuts, or dark chocolate that both men and women can consume during the day.

"This is how you can easily get rid of extra pounds with your palm and at the same time not have to count calories and constantly weigh food," the expert emphasized.
