Can anyone imagine a festive or even an everyday table without the signature dish – fish? There is a huge variety of recipes and every time you want to cook it in a new way. Thus, you can please both your family and guests. Fish is especially delicious when it is marinated beforehand.

The FoodOboz editorial team has prepared 3 easy ways to marinate herring. They were shared by a well-known food expert Kostiantyn Hrubych on his Youtube channel for the program "Everything will be fine." (To watch the video, scroll to the end of the news).

Method 1

Ingredients:

  • Herring - 1 kg
  • Black tea - 3 bags
  • Orange zest
  • Favorite spices

How to cook:

  1. First, you need to brew tea.
  2. Add spices: salt, sugar, pepper, and a few bay leaves.
  3. Put the fish in a deep plate. Sprinkle with orange zest.
  4. Pour the cooled marinade over the herring. Cover with cling film and refrigerate for one day.

Method 2

Ingredients:

  • Herring - 1 kg
  • Salt - 2 tbsp
  • Sugar - 1 tbsp
  • Allspice - 1\2 tsp
  • Mustard in grains - 1 tsp
  • Garlic - 2 cloves

Method of preparation:

  1. Clean the fish from the insides and ridge.
  2. Mash the garlic. Mix with all the ingredients. Then rub the fish with the resulting marinade.
  3. Wrap the herring in cling film. Marinate for about 1 day in the refrigerator.

Method 3

Ingredients:

  • Herring - 1 kg
  • Apple juice - 1 tbsp
  • Salt - 3 tbsp
  • Sugar - 2 tbsp.
  • Allspice - 1\2 tsp
  • Olive oil - 1 tbsp.
  • Sunflower oil - 1 tbsp.

Method of preparation:

  1. Clean the fish from the insides, backbone, and skin. Cut into medium-sized pieces. Put them in a deep plate.
  2. Add all the spices and oil to the juice.
  3. Pour the marinade over the fish. Put it in the fridge for 2 hours to marinate.
