Meringue is a cookie-based on whipped and baked egg whites. This cake is used in confectionery as a base for many desserts. And, of course, as a separate dessert for those who like something unusual. Despite this, the meringue is easy to prepare – you only need two ingredients.

Food blogger Oleksii Kriuchkov ( shared a recipe for meringue cookies on his Instagram page, which requires only two ingredients.

Meringue recipe made from egg whites and sugar

A few important points:

  • The dishes in which you will beat the egg whites, as well as the whisks or mixer, must be dry.
  • When separating the eggs, the whites should not get even a little bit of yolk.
  • Sugar should be added in portions.
  • Whipped whites should be very dense.

The ratio of ingredients: 1 egg = 50 g of sugar.

Method of preparation:

1. Separate the whites from the yolks. Add a pinch of salt to the whites and beat with a mixer until fluffy – about 3-4 minutes.

2. Gradually add sugar while continuing to beat. The mass should be dense.

3. Put the protein mixture into a pastry bag and place it on a baking sheet.
