Meringue is a cookie-based on whipped and baked egg whites. This cake is used in confectionery as a base for many desserts. And, of course, as a separate dessert for those who like something unusual. Despite this, the meringue is easy to prepare – you only need two ingredients.
Food blogger Oleksii Kriuchkov (kruchkov.food) shared a recipe for meringue cookies on his Instagram page, which requires only two ingredients.
A few important points:
- The dishes in which you will beat the egg whites, as well as the whisks or mixer, must be dry.
- When separating the eggs, the whites should not get even a little bit of yolk.
- Sugar should be added in portions.
- Whipped whites should be very dense.
Ingredients:
- eggs
- sugar
- salt
The ratio of ingredients: 1 egg = 50 g of sugar.
Method of preparation:
1. Separate the whites from the yolks. Add a pinch of salt to the whites and beat with a mixer until fluffy – about 3-4 minutes.
2. Gradually add sugar while continuing to beat. The mass should be dense.
3. Put the protein mixture into a pastry bag and place it on a baking sheet.
4. Bake at 90-110 degrees for 90-100 minutes.
