Shortbread bagels with jam: dough recipe without yeast, eggs, milk and butter

Bagels are delicious homemade pastries that can be made with various fillings: poppy seeds, cherries, apples, jam, or chocolate, as well as different doughs: yeast, puff pastry, phyllo, or custard.

Food blogger Oksana Dorosh (oksana_dorosh_rezeptu) shared a recipe for shortbread bagels with apple jam on her Instagram page.

Ingredients:

  • flour - 2 tbsp.
  • powdered sugar - 2 tbsp.
  • baking powder - 1 tsp.
  • vegetable oil - 0.5 cups
  • boiling water - 0.5 cups
  • jam for the filling

Method of preparation:

1. Sift the flour into a bowl, and add the powder and baking powder. Mix everything with a whisk.

2. Pour in the oil and water. Mix with a spatula at first, then continue kneading the dough with your hands. The dough is soft, elastic, and does not stick to your hands. Leave it for 15 minutes.

3. Divide the finished dough into 2 parts, roll it out into a thin layer, and cut it into small triangles.

4. Form the bagels with the filling.

5. Bake at 180 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
