Scottish pancakes that Queen Elizabeth cooked for the US President in the 1950s: a recipe for a cult dish

Despite the fact that Queen Elizabeth always had an arsenal of chefs, she loved to spend time in the kitchen and cook something with her own hands. Once, during the visit of U.S. President Dwight Eisenhower, back in 1959, the Queen made popular Scottish pancakes. Eisenhower was the only president to taste Elizabeth II's dish.

The recipe for the famous pancakes was shared by the famous American publication INSIDER.

Ingredients:

  • 4 teaspoons of flour
  • 4 tablespoons of icing sugar
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons of baking soda
  • 3 teaspoons of baking powder

Method of preparation:

1. Break 2 eggs into a bowl.

2. Add the powdered sugar.

3. Pour in half of the milk.

4. Stir the mixture.

5. Add the flour and the rest of the milk.

6. Add the baking soda and baking powder.

7. Mix everything well and add the melted butter.

8. Make the mass homogeneous, put the pancakes in a frying pan and fry on both sides.
