Sausage in dough is a dish that has always been a popular choice in school cafeterias. This type of pastry is not only delicious but also nutritious. It is ideal for a snack, as it is convenient to take with you.
A food blogger with the nickname zhuravlina_cooking knows exactly how to make soft and tasty sausages in dough. On Instagram, she explained how to properly prepare the dough so that it is soft and holds its shape well.
Ingredients for the dough:
- Dry yeast - 5 grams (or 20 grams of pressed yeast)
- Flour - 400 g
- Milk - 250 ml
- Sugar - 1 tbsp
- Salt - 1 tsp
- Oil - 45 ml
Ingredients for the filling:
- Sausages - 12 pcs
Method of preparation:
1. Add sugar and yeast to the warm milk and stir until the yeast dissolves. Next, add 6 tbsp of flour from the total amount, mix, cover with cling film, and leave the dough for 15 minutes.
2. Add salt, oil, and flour to the dough and knead it with a spoon, then grease your hands with oil and knead the dough. Leave the dough in a bowl, cover with cling film, and set aside in a warm place until it doubles in size, about 1 hour.
3. Remove the air from the dough with your hands, kneading it on a floured surface. Then put the dough together in a circle and leave it on the surface covered with a bowl for 15-20 minutes to make it easy to work with.
4. Divide the dough into 2 parts. Roll each part into a rectangle with a rolling pin, divide into 6-7 pieces, and wrap each strip around the sausage.
5. Put the sausages on parchment, leaving a distance of at least 5 cm between the sausages. Then cover the pieces with a clean towel and leave for 20-30 minutes.
6. Brush the pieces with the beaten egg yolk and milk and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake in a preheated oven to 200 degrees for about 20 minutes.
