Rose and strawberry jam: how to prepare an exquisite dessert

Rose jam is a fairly common type of sweet preservation made in Ukraine. The dessert has an exquisite color and a pleasant aroma. It is important to remember that only the bush rose is suitable for this jam.

Food blogger Alina Boyko (alinaboicko) shared a recipe for a delicious rose and strawberry jam on her Instagram page.

Ingredients:

  • rose petals - 100 g
  • strawberries - 600 g
  • sugar - 600 g
  • citric acid - 1/3 tsp.
  • water - 150 ml

Method of preparation:

1. Cover the strawberries with half the sugar. Leave for 30 minutes for them to let the juice.

2. Make syruo frim the rest of the sugar and water.

3. Pour the syrup over the rose petals. Bring the resulting mass to a boil.

4. Then add strawberries and citric acid. Cook for 5 minutes over low heat and then cool.

5. Put the mass back on the fire and bring to a boil. Cook for 10-15 minutes.

6. Pour in jars.
