Red currant jelly: the most accurate recipe
Currant jam is very simple and quick to make, and to make it thick, add gelatin or a thickener to the base.
The cook shared a recipe for delicious, thick red currant jam on Instagram.
Ingredients:
- red currants 1 kg
- sugar 500 g
- a packet of Gelfix, use 2:1
Method of preparation:
1. Wash the currants well. Put it in a saucepan, add 50 g of sugar and cook for 3 minutes to make the berries juice well. Then rub the pulp through a sieve and put it on the fire again.
2. Mix the gelfix with 2 tbsp. sugar and pour into the berries, stir and boil for 3 minutes from the moment of boiling.
3. Pour the jam into clean jars and preserve.
