Red currant jelly, or red currant as it is also called, is very tasty and flavorful. It is very easy to make and requires only three ingredients. This dessert, according to the recipe, is very similar to jam. But with enough sugar, you can make it thicker and create a jelly effect that is dense, delicate, and translucent. And this is exactly the result you can achieve by preparing a dessert according to a proven old recipe by Daria Tsvek, a famous Ukrainian confectioner.

  • red currant juice - 1 liter
  • water - 1\2 glass
  • sugar - 800 g
Canned red currants

Method of preparation:

1. Wash and drain the red currants from excess liquid. Pour the berries into a saucepan.

2. Lightly mash the currants with a pestle.

3. Pour water and put on fire. Cook for 30 minutes over low heat.

4. Then strain the juice.

5. Mix the juice with sugar and put on fire. Cook for another 20 minutes.

6. Pour the resulting mass into sterilized jars. Let it brew.
