Cooking is easy. This phrase is not a myth from the Internet, but a very real thing. In our Recipe of the Day section, we continue to tell you about the simplest dishes that even a young child can handle.

Today we are sharing with you a recipe for baked chicken from the famous chef Jamie Oliver. Jamie suggests baking a whole carcass with lemon, vegetables, and herbs. The bird according to his recipe is juicy, soft, and with a crispy crust.

You will need:

  • whole chicken – 1 pc.
  • medium-sized onions – 2 pcs.
  • carrots – 2 pcs.
  • celery – 2 stalks
  • lemon – 1 pc.
  • garlic – 1 head
  • oil
  • salt and pepper
  • thyme – 1 small bunch

How to cook:

  1. Take the chicken out of the refrigerator half an hour before cooking. Wash, pat dry, and leave to rest. Heat the oven to 240 degrees.
  2. Wash the vegetables well with a brush, pat dry, and cut into slices. Put them in a deep baking dish. Break the head of garlic into cloves, add to the vegetables (no need to peel). Drizzle the vegetables with oil.
  3. Drizzle the chicken with oil and rub well with salt and pepper on all sides.
  4. Wash the lemon, pat dry, and pierce it on all sides with a fork or knife. Put it inside the chicken along with the herbs.
  5. Put the chicken on top of the vegetables and put in a preheated oven. Reduce the temperature to 200 degrees and leave to bake for an hour and twenty minutes. In the middle of cooking, take the baking sheet out of the oven and pour a little water into the mold so that it covers the vegetables. This is to prevent the vegetables from drying out and burning.
  6. After about twenty hours, take the chicken out of the oven, put it on a platter, cover it with foil or a towel, and let it rest for about 15 minutes. Serve the chicken with roasted vegetables.
