Real Georgian banosh with bryndza cheese and mushrooms: what cereal to add
Banosh is a traditional Georgian dish that has a very light and delicate flavor. This is because it is made from corn grits. The texture of this porridge is very smooth and juicy, especially if you add milk and cream.
The idea of making traditional banosh with cheese and mushrooms was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Khrystyna (kristina_buleziuk).
Ingredients:
- 130 g of corn grits
- 400 ml of water
- 100 ml of milk
- 2 tbsp of sour cream or cream
- salt to taste
- 30 g of butter
- bryndza cheese
Method of preparation:
1. Bring the water to a boil and gradually add the cereal, stirring constantly. Then add milk, sour cream, and salt and stir until tender.
2. Put it in a deep bowl and add a piece of butter and grated cheese on top.
Georgian-style mushrooms:
- 600 g of mushrooms
- 200 g of sulguni cheese
- 50 g of butter
- 200 g of bacon
- salt - to taste
Method of preparation:
1. Wash the mushrooms and cut them into pieces. Fry them in a little oil until the water is evaporated, add bacon and salt and top with grated cheese and butter.
2. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees until golden brown.
