Quick pickled mackerel: even fish from the freezer will do
Many people are convinced that to make delicious pickled mackerel, you need to use only fresh fish. But even the one that has already been frozen will do. All the marinade components will make the product juicy and very spicy.
The idea of cooking pickled mackerel was published on the Instagram page of a food blogger with the nickname retsepty_halytskoi_pani.
Ingredients:
- frozen mackerel - 1 pc.
- onion - 2 pcs.
- oil - 2 tbsp.
Ingredients for the marinade:
- water - 300 g
- a few peppercorns (a mixture of peppers),
- bay leaves - 2 pcs.
- salt - 1 tbsp
- sugar - 1 tbsp
- vinegar - 50 g
Method of preparation:
1. Defrost the mackerel, cut into slices, and chop the onion into slices separately.
2. Put the fish and onions in layers in a bowl (not aluminum).
3. Add 2 tbsp of oil.
4. Boil the marinade, pour it over the mackerel, and simmer for 5 minutes.
5. Store in a glass jar with a lid in the refrigerator.
