Pumpkin steak: an exclusive recipe shared by a participant of Hell's Kitchen
How many versatile dishes can be made from a single pumpkin: casseroles, soups, and even salads. Few people guess, but such a familiar product can be easily diversified by cooking a steak – it turns out very interesting and spicy.
Especially for the FoodObobz editorial team, Kateryna Lavrynenko, a participant of the Hell's Kitchen cooking show, shared an exclusive recipe for pumpkin steak.
Ingredients:
- Pumpkin – one peeled bar
- Thymem – a small sprig
- Butter – 25 g
- Olive and lemon oil
- Beef – 150 g
- Salt
- Pepper
Method of preparation:
1. Peel the pumpkin and cut the steak from the densest part of the vegetable. This part mustn't be flabby.
2. Take foil, pour oil, and put the steak. Add salt, pepper and thyme.
3. Wrap in foil, and cook in the oven or a steam bath. The cooking time depends on the thickness of the piece. Therefore, you need to carefully monitor and check the readiness with a skewer.
4. After the steak is fully cooked, heat a frying pan and fry the pumpkin on all sides with lemon olive oil until crispy.
5. Cut the beef into slices and fry for about 10 seconds on each side. This is to brown the meat and keep the middle of the meat in the middle. At the end, sprinkle with coarse salt and pepper.
6. Put the meat on the pumpkin or next to it.
