Pumpkin, poppy seed and banana: Liza Hlinska reveals the secret of real American pancakes
Watching some American movies, you can often see characters having breakfast with mini-pancakes and pouring various syrups or jams over them.
It turns out that making such pancakes is very easy. They are created for when you want to have a quick, easy, and, of course, delicious breakfast.
They are also an ideal option for breakfast and just an independent dessert.

Pumpkin pancakes
Ingredients:
- Milk - 120 ml
- Pumpkin puree - 200 g
- Eggs - 100 g
- Sugar or maple syrup - 30 g
- Butter - 30 g
- Flour - 200 g
- Baking powder - 5 g
Method of preparation:
1. Peel the pumpkin and cut into small pieces. Cook until it becomes soft.
2. Whisk with a blender to a puree consistency.
3. Add eggs, maple syrup or sugar, melted butter, and blend again.
4. Mix flour and baking powder and gradually add to the mashed potatoes.
5. Pour in the milk.
6. Fry the pancakes on one side for about 1-2 minutes, then turn them over, pour 1 tsp of water into the pan and cover with a lid. Fry for about another 1 minute.
Poppy seed pancakes with raspberries
Ingredients:
- Kefir 220 - ml
- Eggs - 50 g
- Sugar - 20 g
- Soda - 1\2 tsp.
- Butter - 20 g
- Flour - 150 g
- Poppy seeds - 20 g
- Frozen raspberries or any other berries - 80 g
Method of preparation:
1. Mix flour, baking soda and poppy seeds.
2. Mix eggs, sugar, and melted butter in a separate bowl.
3. Combine the dry ingredients with the liquid ingredients.
4. Put the pancakes on the pan, put the berries in the middle, and cover them completely with the dough.
5. Fry on both sides.
Yeast pancakes
Ingredients:
- Milk - 200 ml
- Sugar - 5 g
- Vanilla sugar
- Dry yeast - 2 g
- Flour - 150 g
- Vegetable oil - 20 ml
- Salt
Method of preparation:
1. Sift the flour through a sieve, add sugar and dry yeast. Mix and leave for 10 minutes.
2. Add salt, warm milk and oil. Cover the dough with cling film and leave in a warm place for 30-40 minutes.
3. Heat a frying pan with oil. Fry the pancakes on both sides until golden brown.
4. Put them on a paper towel.
5. Serve with jam or sour cream.
Banana pancakes with berries
Ingredients:
- Banana - 200 g
- Eggs - 100 g
- Cane sugar - 40 g
- Rice flour - 100 g
- Baking powder - 6 g
- Fresh or frozen berries - 100 g
- Cinnamon or vanilla
Method of preparation:
1. Beat bananas, eggs, and sugar in a blender.
2. Combine flour and baking powder. Add salt and mix.
3. Combine the two masses and beat with a blender.
4. Add the berries and mix.
5. Fry the pancakes on both sides under the lid.
6. Serve with fresh berries and powdered sugar.
