Puffy steamed dumplings with cherries: how to quickly prepare a successful dish
Dumplings is a favorite dish of many people. Hearty, tasty and very simple - what could be better. They can be boiled in an ordinary pot, as they are usually done. Or you can steam them - that's how dumplings turn out especially soft and lush.
Food blogger Yana(yanulyalove) shared a recipe for steamed dumplings with cherries on her Instagram page .
Ingredients:
- kefir - 500 ml
- baking soda - 1 tsp.
- salt - 1 tsp.
- sugar - 2 tsp.
- flour - 5-6 tbsp.
- cherries - 400 g
Method of preparation:
1. In a bowl mix kefir and baking soda. Stir with a whisk until a "cap" appears.
2. Pour in salt and sugar. Stir and leave for 5 minutes.
3. Add the flour and knead the dough. It will be soft. Cover with a towel and leave for 20 minutes.
4. Meanwhile, remove the pips from the cherries.
5. Roll the dough into a sausage, cut into pieces. Roll each piece in flour.
6. Put the filling in the center and sprinkle with sugar. Fix the sides.
7. Pour water into a saucepan and bring to the boil. Place a colander and cover with gauze.
8. Lay out the dumplings, leaving plenty of space between them.
9. Cover them with a plate and cook for 5-7 minutes.
