Dumplings are a hearty, rather heavy dough dish that is very easy to prepare, just make a good base – dough and delicious filling. As a rule, we are all accustomed to the classic meat version, not even realizing that dumplings are not only about meat.
The FoodOboz editorial team shares with you an amazing recipe for baked apple dumplings from puff pastry with a delicious sauce, which was published in My baking addiction.
Ingredients:
- ready-made puff pastry - 1 package
- apples - 6 pcs.
- butter - 50-70 g
- brown sugar - 3/4 cup
- cinnamon - 1 tsp.
- ground nutmeg - 1/2 tsp.
- water - 3 cups
- sugar - 2 cups
- vanilla extract - 1 tsp.
Method of preparation:
- Wash and peel the apples, cut them into medium cubes, sprinkle with sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg, and mix.
- Sprinkle the table surface with flour, roll out the dough well, cut into 6 equal pieces, and put a piece of butter and apples in each.
- Carefully mold the dumplings so that the apples do not fall out and place the finished apple dumplings on a baking sheet or mold.
- Sauce: combine water, sugar, vanilla, and butter in a saucepan, bring the mixture to a boil, and cook for another 5 minutes.
- Pour half of the prepared sauce generously over the dumplings and put in the oven to bake for 50-60 minutes at 180 C.
Pour the sugar sauce over the apple dumplings before serving, it will be very tasty and flavorful.
