Potato pancakes or deruny are a very satisfying and tasty potato dish that is very quick and easy to prepare. You just need to choose the right kind of potatoes and make a delicious sauce.

On Instagram, chef Mykola Liulko shared a recipe for delicious potato pancakes with cheese sauce that take no more than 15 minutes to prepare.

Recipe for potato pancakes.

Ingredients:

  • potatoes - 1 kg
  • onion - 300 g
  • garlic - 1-2 cloves
Homemade potato pancakes.
  • hard cheese - 100 g
  • eggs - 2 pcs
  • green onions - 30 g
  • parsley - 30 g
Potatoes.
  • salt - 10 g
  • pepper - a pinch
  • ground coriander - 3 g
  • lemon juice - 10 ml
  • flour - 3 tbsp

Cheese sauce:

Sauce.
  • butter - 10 g
  • wheat flour - 10 g
  • milk - 260 ml
  • cheddar cheese - 100 g

Method of preparation:

1. Grate the potatoes. Be sure to put them in a colander to drain all the excess juice.

2. Chop the onion and grate the garlic.

3. Put the potatoes in a bowl, add the lemon juice, onion and garlic, egg, flour, chopped parsley, spices, and cheese and mix thoroughly.

Deruny.

4. For the sauce, melt the butter in a frying pan, add the flour, mix quickly and pour in the milk. Mix, add cheese and mix well again until the sauce is smooth. Pour into a suitable dish.

Potato pancakes.

5. Heat a frying pan, add oil and fry the potato pancakes.

Serve the pancakes with the sauce hot.
