Potato pancakes that never darken: how to cook in a new way
Classic potato pancakes can be prepared in a new way, namely by adding cheese to the dough, which will be especially tasty with cheese. Also, to prevent the pancakes from darkening after frying, be sure to add onion juice.
Food blogger Olena Sagun (olena_sagun)shared a recipe for pancakes with cheese on her Instagram page .
Ingredients:
- raw potatoes - 4 pcs
- onion - 1 pc
- garlic - 2 cloves
- eggs - 1 pc
- flour - 1 tbsp
- sour cream - 1 tbsp
- cheese - 80-100 g
- salt, pepper
Method of preparation:
1. Peel and grate the potatoes on a fine grater. Then squeeze the potato mass from moisture.
2. Grate or chop the garlic and onion, then mix with the potatoes, sour cream, cheese and egg. Mix well.
3. Add flour, salt and pepper. Mix well.
Important: after this stage, the food blogger advises leaving the mass for 10 minutes.
4. Fry the potato pancakes in a preheated frying pan until cooked.
Important: the food blogger advises frying the pancakes on low heat for 8-10 minutes on each side so that they cook evenly and do not burn.
5. Serve the pancakes with sour cream.
