Potato gnocchi with cheese: recipe for a simple alternative to lazy dumplings
Italian gnocchi are essentially Ukrainian lazy dumplings. They are similar both in appearance and in cooking technology. Most often, the dish is made with cottage cheese and potatoes. The second option is many times more hearty, and if you add hard cheese to it, you get a perfect complete dish.
The recipe for potato gnocchi with cheese was shared by food blogger Maryna (maryna_ivash) on her Instagram page.
Ingredients:
- mashed potatoes - 500 g
- flour - 120 g
- hard cheese - 120 g
- eggs - 1 pc
- salt, pepper, spices
Method of preparation:
1. Boil the potatoes and mash them. Cool.
2. Add flour, grated cheese, egg and salt. Knead the dough.
3. Form the dough into a sausage. Cut into small pieces.
4. Boil the gnocchi in salted water for about 4-5 minutes.
5. Add butter and spices when serving.
