Potato dumplings: recipe for a classic German dish
German potato dumplings are a hearty potato dish. They are usually made with onion and ham filling. And they are served with a butter and herb sauce.

Ingredients:
- potatoes - 3 pcs.
- onion - 1 pc
- ham - 6-8 pieces
- egg yolk - 1 pc
- corn starch - 150 g
- salt, pepper
- smoked paprika
- boiling water
Additionally:
- butter
- dill
Method of preparation:
1. Peel and chop the potatoes. Pour boiling water over them, add salt and put them on the stove.
2. Chop the onion. Fry in a mixture of oil and melted butter for 3-4 minutes. Add salt and pepper.
3. Chop the ham and add to the onions. Also add paprika. Fry for 2 minutes.
4. Make mashed potatoes.
5. Add the yolk and starch to the mashed potatoes. Knead the potato dough.
6. Form the dough into balls and put the onion and ham filling in each one.
7. Boil the dumplings in boiling water. After the dumplings float, cook for another 5 minutes.
8. Serve the dumplings with the sauce.
