Potato casserole with minced meat for a hearty and quick lunch

Ingredients:

• Potatoes – 5 pcs
• Minced beef – 350 g

• Onion – 1 pc
• Bell pepper - 1 pc

• Tomato – 1 pc
• Tomato paste –1 tbsp
• Mushrooms – 5 pcs

• Mozzarella – 200 gr
• Milk – 400 ml
• Butter – 1 tbsp

• Flour – 1.5 tbsp
• Nutmeg/salt/pepper – to taste
• Oil – 1-2 tbsp

• Any greens – a bunch

Method of preparation:

1. Peel the potatoes and cut them into thin slices.

2. Rinse with water, dry, and fry in small portions in vegetable oil until tender.

3. Bechamel sauce: melt the butter in a heavy-bottomed saucepan, add the flour, fry, and gradually pour in the milk, mix well.

4. Add salt, pepper and nutmeg, stir and cook the sauce for about 2-3 minutes.

5. Fill: dice the onion and fry, add the minced meat, pepper, tomato paste, tomatoes, spices, and a little water and simmer under the lid until tender.

6. Grease a baking dish with oil, put half the potatoes, and top with the meat filling and the remaining potatoes.

7. Pour the prepared sauce over the dish.

8. Sprinkle with grated cheese and place in a preheated 180°C oven until golden brown.
