Pies with jam, like in childhood: the most delicious homemade pastries
Homemade pies with jam are a taste familiar to many since childhood. If you want them to be fluffy, soft, grow well, and be stored, it's best to make them from yeast dough.
Food blogger Iryna Kozachuk (irina_kozachuk_) shared a recipe for homemade pies with jam on her Instagram page.
Ingredients:
- milk - 160 ml
- fresh yeast - 12 g \ dry - 4 g
- sugar - 80 g
- eggs - 1 pc
- butter - 60 g
- flour - 400 g
- jam (for the filling)
- 1 egg yolk + 1 tbsp. l milk (for greasing)
Method of preparation:
1. To prepare the dough, dissolve the yeast with 1 tbsp of sugar in warm milk. Cover the mass with a towel and leave for 15 minutes.
2. Add sugar, egg, and melted butter to the finished dough. Mix well.
3. Add flour in parts and knead a soft dough that does not stick to your hands. Put it in a greased bowl, cover with a towel and leave in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours.
4. Divide the dough into 12 pieces, form balls from each, cover with a towel and leave for 10 minutes.
5. Next, form the patties with the filling. Put on a baking sheet, cover with a towel and leave for another 30 minutes.
6. Brush the pies with egg yolk and milk. Bake in the oven at 180 degrees for 15-20 minutes.
