Pickled cucumbers with lemon and spices for the winter: a recipe for a spicy appetizer from Liliia Tsvit
Cucumbers are very budget-friendly, tasty, and healthy vegetables that make delicious salads, and experts recommend eating them raw. They also make excellent cleansing drinks. Cucumbers are also pickled, canned, salted, and fermented.
Cook Liliia Tsvit shared a recipe for spicy pickled cucumbers with lemon and spices on Instagram.
Ingredients:
- lemon – 2-3 slices
- cucumbers – 1 kg
- dill – 1-2 inflorescences
- garlic – 3-4 cloves
- bay leaf – 2-3 pcs.
- a mixture of peppers – 1 tsp.
- coriander – 1 tsp.
For the marinade:
- water
- salt – 2 tbsp.
- sugar – 160 g
- citric acid – 1.5 tsp.
Method of preparation:
1. Wash the cucumbers and cover with cold water for 3 hours.
2. Then cut off the edges.
3. Wash the dill, and peel the garlic, but do not chop it. Put the spices, cucumbers, and sliced lemon on the bottom of sterile jars, then top with the lemon. Pour boiling water over the top, then leave for 15 minutes.
4. Marinade: pour the water from the jars into a saucepan, add sugar, salt, citric acid, and bring to a boil.
5. Pour the hot marinade over the cucumbers, preserve, and turn them upside down.
