Pickled cucumbers with ketchup and mustard: a recipe for a spicy appetizer for the winter

  • Cucumbers - 600 g
  • Dijon mustard - 2 tsp.
  • Chili ketchup - 2 tbsp.
  • Salt - ½ tsp.
  • Sugar - ½ tsp
  • Vinegar - 30 ml
  • Water - 240 ml
  • Allspice - 2 pcs.
  • Garlic - 2 cloves.
  • Dill
  • Horseradish leaves

Method of preparation

1. Wash the cucumbers, cut off the "butts", cover with water and leave for 2 hours.

2. Sterilize the jars and lids, put horseradish leaves, a sprig of dill, and 1 clove of garlic in the jar, fill the jar with cucumbers and pour boiling water over it, and leave it for 10 minutes.

3. Combine all the ingredients for the marinade: salt, sugar, water, vinegar, ketchup, mustard, and allspice in a saucepan, bring to a boil, and cook for 5 minutes.

4. Drain the water from the cucumbers, pour over the boiling marinade, and cover with a sterilized lid.

5. Turn over, wrap in warm towels and leave to cool.
