Philadelphia cheese from milk and sour cream: how to make
Philadelphia is a very popular cream cheese that is used to make many different appetizers, rolls, or baked goods. And the most budgetary and healthy option is to make it at home.
The idea of making homemade Philadelphia cheese was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Alex Mil (mil_alexx).
Ingredients:
- sour cream – 400 g (15-20%)
- milk – 100 g
- lemon juice – 1 tsp.
- sugar – 0.5 tsp
- salt – 1 tsp
Method of preparation:
1. Pour sour cream and milk into a saucepan, mix well.
2. Put it on a small fire and heat it without bringing it to a boil. This is about 75 degrees. and then pour in the lemon juice and knead.
3. Stirring constantly, cook over low heat for 5-6 minutes.
4. Add salt and sugar and mix well.
5. Turn off the heat.
6. Put cheesecloth in a colander, laid in 5-6 layers, or put 4-5 high-quality napkins.
7. Pour in the cream cheese.
8. Let the mass cool and put it in the refrigerator for several hours – this way the mass will have a harder and denser structure.
