Pasta carbonara without cream: how to replace an important ingredient

How can you have carbonara pasta without cream, you might ask? But there is a very simple alternative, and this rather important ingredient can be easily replaced with regular egg yolk. The main thing is to know how to add it to the dish correctly.

Food blogger Evgeniya Karpiuk, aka evgeniyakarpiuk, shared a recipe for creamless carbonara pasta on her Instagram page.

Ingredients:

  • spaghetti – 70-100 g
  • egg yolk – 1 pc
  • Parmesan cheese – 30 g
  • chicken fillet, bacon
  • salt, pepper

Method of preparation:

1. Boil spaghetti in boiling water as directed on the package.

2. Cut and fry the fillet or bacon.

3. Separately, mix the yolk with grated Parmesan cheese. Add about one ladle of water to the resulting mass, in which the spaghetti is cooked. Stir the mixture.

4. Drain the cooked spaghetti. Add to the fillet or bacon.

5. At the same time, pour the egg and cheese mixture, salt, and pepper into the pan. Stir quickly and remove from heat.

6. When serving, you can also sprinkle with parmesan and drizzle with olive oil.
